2016: Year in Review

Goodness gracious, belles! Can you believe that another year has come and gone?

To celebrate another great year of blogging, I’ve pulled the top five most frequently visited blog posts from 2016. Starting with number 5:

5. My reflections on my two year wedding anniversary. Glad to see y’all love love as much as I do!

4. My write-up on Catalyst Scrubs, an ethically-sourced scrubs brand! Not going to lie, I was a little surprised to see this one pop up in the top five. Then again, there sure are a ton of nurses, doctors, physical therapists, speech pathologists, CNAs, radiologists, and other medical professionals out there. Makes sense that many of you are looking for ways to do good when purchasing your daily work outfits!

3. The Frizzy Hair Manifesto! I have struggled (and continue to struggle) with so many self-doubts about my hair. It really warms my heart to have your support as I learn to embrace my natural self!

2. My post introducing the Inside Out Challenge, which was my year-long attempt to exclusively buy fair trade fashion! Read about all of the ensuing escapades here.

1. Annnnnnd top billing this year goes to….Ben and Marie’s picturesque fall wedding!! Who can blame y’all for loving these luscious sunflowers and beautiful burgundy hues?

That’s a wrap, 2016! I can’t wait for what the new year has in store for this blog. Thanks as always for following along!

Leaning into Fall

Stop the music and halt everything you’re doing! I know, this is a shocking revelation. Y’all know how I typically feel about fall. But something is different this year. I’m leaning into it…maybe almost…liking it? You may want to screenshot this post and send me the photo when I start complaining about fall next week.

But seriously, I’m ready for a change in season. Summer was awesome. I love the hot weather, the pool time, the 9:30 sunsets, all the fun outings. We traveled just about every weekend, seeing friends and family and celebrating others. Loved loved loved all of it. But, honestly? I’m a little exhausted.

I’m craving the slower pace of fall. I know for families with children, back-to-school time may hardly seem restful, but for our little family of three (that’s me, hubs, and the pup, for those who were confused), fall brings stillness. Peacefulness. Fewer vacations, weddings, birthdays, and parties. I love all of those things, but they have had their season, and now I’m wanting something a little different.

I can’t believe I’m saying it, but I am actually looking forward to fall. I can’t wait to curl up inside on a Friday night and watch a movie. I can’t wait to relax while roasting marshmallows by our fire pit. I’m finally ready to snuggle up to you, fall. Look out!

Big News! Wedding Belles Blog is now Trés Belle!

Hi there everyone! Big news coming at you today that has been a long time in the making: Wedding Belles Blog has become Trés Belle, a more comprehensive lifestyle blog that addresses not only weddings, but other aspects of the Southern belle life (as well as more personal reflections from my ownself!). Don’t worry, though…Wedding Belles isn’t going away! You can find the Wedding Belles section of Trés Belle on the top navigation menu on the site, where I will continue to bring you wedding planning inspiration, tips, and tricks. I am beyond excited about the blog’s transformation (or perhaps evolution is a better word?) and can’t wait to see what you think about the new content.

xoxo Laura
